This book is divided into essays and poetry. I enjoyed the essays. There was a lot there to think about and there were definitely elements to Krasskova's thoughts on Odin that I recognized from my relationship with El-Ya and helped me understand more of what had happened there and why it went so terribly wrong. There were things I related to much more than I like to admit to myself, ideas that challenged assumptions I had made, and things that definitely proved to me that I am walking a different path. I struggled with the poetry because it felt so much like an invocation, even simply reading it aloud in my head, and while I respect Odin, I do from far away and I do not need him showing up randomly in my life. I prefer Thor, honestly. And this book really made me realize that there are not enough books like this out there. I want a book about someone's experience's with Thor, or with any other god/dess really. I am so glad this book exists because I think it's so important to be able to see through the eyes of someone who thinks radically different from us, who walks a different path than us, so we can understand them better, and find parts of ourselves in them, and there needs to be more books like this.

I'm a poet, polytheist, theologian and the majority of my writing is religious, of one flavor or another. I've written over twenty books covering a broad range of topics within contemporary Heathenry (Norse/Germanic polytheism), several devotionals (including a couple to Greco-Roman Deities), and I've edited several anthologies. I'm the managing editor of "Walking the Worlds" journal, the first peer reviewed journal focusing on issues of interest to polytheists and I maintain a blog at http://krasskova.wordpress.com. I cause a lot of trouble. LOL. When I'm not writing (and causing trouble), I'm slogging my way through graduate school, round three. I currently hold a Masters in Religious Studies, worked for six years in a Phd program in Classics and have recently transferred to Medieval Studies. I like the multi-disciplinary approach in this field and eventually, if my brain doesn't just go kaputt, I plan on a PhD in theology.
I'm also an artist - acrylic and watercolor, some photography and I co own Riverwinds Gallery in Beacon, NY. If you're ever in the area, stop by and see me.
